How to Create Content Strategy

How to Create Content Strategy?  Content implies a platform to share it.  The way to share content that will last is through a platform that you control that no one can erase your work.  What can you control?  Website!  Not a free one that will not show up in search result, rather a .com that will rank.  Let’s start the process:

1.) Create A Website

If you need a website, then check out Blue Host:

https://www.bluehost.com/track/martinaffiliate/ for $3.49 a month and get a free domain name when you sign up.  Follow this step by step guide to walk you through the process: how to create bluehost website

2.) Map The Content Plan

Be strategic with your content.  Plan and mind map your content to wrap around your niche and products.  You need to create a persuasive headline with persuasive writing tied to actionable content that can benefit your website’s visitors.

Also consider these questions:

  • How many times a week?
  • What kind of content?
  • What format/formats?  Written!  Video!  Podcast!

3.) Follow the plan

The greatest enemy to success is lack of focus & consistency.  The best way to create loyalty is to provide exceptional customer service and offer value.  The most beneficial concept for businesses to focus on is creating customer loyalty.  Customer loyalty is created by branding.

You need to connect with people through your story.  The power of a brand is that people will pay whatever you charge because they are loyal customers to your brand.  The key is to dominate the market by being exceptional in one area through focus.

Don’t start doing something five times a week and then start doing it only once.  You create credibility by creating and sharing great content consistently.  People know that they can count on you.

People listen to your podcasts daily, and then nothing comes out until one week later.  You will lose credibility.  You cannot be counted on.

Yes!  You lose credibility that easy.  Notify your audience with your plans.

Don’t change often with your content publishing.  Follow up with customers.  One key to success in business is focus.

A person will not have success, if they lack focus.  What is focus?  Focus is defined as the center of interest and main purpose to a certain thing or activity.

Your focus must be clear and transparent.  Become an expert in your topic.  There is a saying, “If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.”  If you are starting out in online business, then become a success in one thing first.

Then move to another topic.  Do not try to become an expert in more than one thing at a time.  Concentrate on your brand, story and uniqueness.

Concentrate on providing solutions.  Here is a quote, “Do not let what you can’t do interfere with what you can do.” John Wooden

4.) Where to post content

What to do with your blog content?  When content is written, use that content for:

  • Social bookmarking
  • Media: Podcast, videos and screen casts
  • Social media: Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google and Twitter
  • Place share buttons for website visitors

Here are great options to consider:

  • Write for other people with a link back to your website.  Write for other blogs that relate to your niche.  Write for online media outlets.
  • Write for forums.  Who does podcasts in your niche?  Write them an email.
  • Make an affiliate program for your products in order to bring traffic and sales to you.
  • Action step: Get a notebook and write out your content schedule and article list.  Remember that your content needs to be minimum 1200 words for your first 12 articles.  The next articles should be over 2,000 words.  The max you should write is  4,000 words.  Write in your notebook what platforms that you will use for your content.  Now it is  time to setup your funnel to send your traffic for email list.
  • Post Checklist

5.) Create email list

A business is not a business until the business has clients and revenue from a product.  Therefore the most important factor for an online business is to build an Email list.  The business needs a product to sell that will bring in revenue.  The e-mail list is the online businesses customer list for the products.  It is imperative to have a landing page that is integrated with an automated email responding service for subscribers to receive email offers scheduled out.

6.) Sign up for payment processor

How does it work?  When people click on your product buy button, then the customer will be passed to an automated payment processor like PayPal.  The customer will enter in the information with the payment method to purchase your product.

The payment will be processed and once accepted, the A.P.I. will notify the place where the product is to be released to send off to the customer.  The systems of automation communicate automatically through A.P.I.  You may need an e-commerce product set up as well.

The payment is sent to your PayPal account.  It is all done automatically without your presence in the process.

7.) Create selling system

Strategy That Leads To Buyers: There are steps to get to people that are buyers.  The first step is prospecting through content and sharing that content sending people to a landing page offer to subscribe.  The second step is to take those leads that subscribed through email campaigns.  Those leads that convert on your sales offers become buyers.  Here is the whole process explained that will lead to buyers.

First step: Create content that lead prospects to Landing page

What is the process of prospecting online? Create strategic content in various forms: Videos, Podcasts and Posts.  The research for the keywords is essential with the spy keyword tool.  Look for keyword searches with 20,000 searches or less a month.

A.) Create Content

  • Create a podcast from the audio
  • Transcribe it into an article
  • Use pictures
  • Make a video from the audio
  • Publish the article on website, audio on podcast feed and video on YouTube.
  • Place share buttons on website

B.) Share your content for traffic

1.) The search engines are:

  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Bing

2.) Post Content

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • Google

3.) Videos

  • YouTube
  • Vimeo
  • Other video platforms
  • Streaming

4.) Podcasts

  • iTunes
  • Google podcasts
  • Zune
  • Podcast directories
  • Stitcher
  • Sound Cloud
  • Pod bean

5.) Advertising

  • Banners
  • Media buys

6.) Comment on forums (Quora, Warrior forum, and others), Write and comment on blogs & Guest on shows

Second step: Sequence of email campaigns to subscribers (leads) to create buyers

You need a link back to a landing page on your website.  The landing page should contain a free offer to subscribe.  Subscribers are your leads. If you sell physical products, then your offer should be physical like a coupon or a Digital eBook.

A.) Create 3 email auto responder sequences.  The first sequence is designed to bring leads into entry level cheaper offer.  Here is the process.

The first email should go out right after opting in with welcome, valuable content related to your entry level product that will be in email three.  If you say that they are going to get something free, then follow through with that promise.  The second email should be on day 4 with content related to entry level offer, and then one week later send valuable content with offer.

At the end of your emails say, “If you like these videos or articles, then maybe you will like this product with extra value for sale.”  You lead them from the email to a sales page and that page should lead to a checkout page.  You can follow with an upsell page after you buy that has another offer additional.

Those products will be set up on a payment autopilot to process cards.  You are required by law to charge sales tax for people from the state that your company resides.  Send bill out via email. Customer care! Follow up with a thank you email with a review questionnaire.

Third step: Creating loyalty and a long term customer

A.) Repeat the email process above for second tier price offer and then again for a third tier priced offer.

B.) Model for selling

Entry level offer, cross sell related feature, upsell to second tier and third tier.  You should create a program or software with monthly subscription.

C.) How do I know where my customers came from?  Sign up for Google analytics to look at source and behavior flow!

D.) Why did my customers leave without buying?  Does your offer match up in the sequences of email to the content?  Do they know what your website is about when they come to it?  Do you show your products easily?  Etc.

Email Laws state that you cannot email people unless they opt in for company emails.  Your address must be at the bottom of the email for company.  You must be able to unsubscribe.  Also links to affiliate offers need a disclaimer by law notifying them that you commission for purchases and there are affiliate link present.

 Fourth Step: Offline sales

1.) Phone sales (You need a sales pitch)

2.) Postcard Mailing (Problem headline and solution on front and call to action on back)

3.) Flyers (Headline, action points with benefits and call to action)

4.) Trade Shows (Booth and displays of benefits and products)

5.) Direct Mail (Great copy or forget about it)

Analytic System

The system is built upon your vision and goals.  Your vision has to always be on your mind, employees and customers as well.  The vision for your dream is the driving force that keeps you moving forward.

You have to see your vision afar off.  You have to confess your vision to others.  You have to embrace your vision.  You have to persuade others of your vision.

Evaluate your performance goals weekly to see if they are being met.  If they are not being met, then figure out what is stopping the goals from being reached.  Whatever is stopping the goals from being attained must be addressed immediately.

Scan the timeline for business goals to make sure that the attainment of the goals are meeting the expectations of the goal setting deadlines.  You should look at your goals to separate the work into two categories. The two categories are Low and high priority.

Write out the important items to be done under high priority.  The items that are not important should be put under low priority.  Always finish your high priority work first.

Performance

There are three areas for performing that must be accessed weekly. The three areas of performance are:

 Business Habits

Are you reading, creating products, content and getting the word out?

 Test

Do not start building a product until you know that you have a customer that is willing to pay for it.  Get on an online community for your topic to test the market.  Ask people if they would be interested in a particular product.

You can also create a condensed version of what your idea is for a product to see if there is any interest.  If there is interest, then create your product.  Validate first, and then create.

Be wise and save time by not creating something that no one is going to buy.  Always be ready to tweak or change around what you are doing if it is not working.  There are two kinds of products that can be created.

The next big thing or a product that exists already that can be enhanced.  Over 90% of products that come out are an innovative enhancement to an old product.  The next big thing is a rare commodity.

My point is not to get caught up in wasting your time trying to find the next big thing.  Find as many ways as you can put an innovative twist on something that already exists.  This practice will save you time that can be spent creating something that produces passive income for you.

Growth

Every week you should complete an evaluation to see what is growing.  What is not growing?  Why isn’t it growing?

What should be tweaked until you see it start to work?

Tip: Use the (S.W.O.T.) acronym in your strategies.  Be mindful of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and the threats in the business.  Strategize and act.

Your success in online business depends on your efforts, hard work and perseverance.  You can do it!
